Summer Time Randomness and Goat Milk Soap!

This has been one of the most amazing summers in terms of weather, we have ever experienced in our area.
Rainfall is at a record low. Lawns are brown, which is rare around here. If the grass does turn brown, it usually doesn't happen until August and then only a portion of the yard will dry out to that extent.
Summer activities this year have included a road trip with my daughter for the birth of my great neice and a visit with my brother and sister-in-law, nephew, and some very precious friends, a few beach trips, a visit from dear friends who live in Florida, a visit from more dear friends who live on the other side of the state, extra fun and special time with the grandkiddos who have taken turns spending the night at Papa and Nama's house, continued home school studies, and last week we had an art day with Brandi and her kiddos.

Coffees for the road!
Cheer squad in the waiting room while my niece was in labor. Brandi was her doula and did a great job of keeping us all informed on progress.

We had dinner at Sam and Jenna's house one evening. YUMMY! And so much fun to visit them in their home and finally meet their adorable little girl, Avi.

A Visit From Our Grandsons
Over this past week-end we had three of our grandsons out for a visit.
The kids had a great time, and we really enjoyed having them.
They jumped on the trampoline, had Nerf Gun wars, played in the swimming pool, picked blackberries, played the Wii, and had a movie night with Papa and Nama, and the aunties and uncles.

Saturday morning breakfast was a hit with Cooper. He was the only one who spent the night with us, and he LOVED his gluten free French Toast with berries and whipping cream.

After all that activity, our youngest little guy put himself down for a nap on the couch.

When the kids vacated the pool, Tessa helped herself to the refreshing water for a little wading time and a nice, long, drink.

At the end of the day we settled in for a movie with all the kids and grandkiddos, but Little Man couldn't quite make it through the show after all that activity.
Last week's art day
Brandi is amazing. She comes up with such great ideas that are educational and fun for the kids. They all had a wonderful time as she taught them some painting techniques and allowed them all to experiment on their own.

Can I paint with this motorcycle, please?

Cora came out with Brandi. The girls were super excited to see her again.

Can you smell that puppy breath?
We are super excited to announce that our girl, Dallas, is expecting a litter in about three weeks! We can hardly wait for the puppies to arrive. Just get a load of the cuteness this puppy from her last litter exudes. :)
 Thank you, Lisa!!!
A great big shout out and thank you to my friend Lisa, over at Pray for Lilly, for the wonderful goat milk soap she sent me. I am loving it!

I hope everyone is enjoying this season. It is hard to believe July is nearly over. Time passes so quickly. We're already gearing up for the fall schedule, and I'm thanking God that we have a little bit of good relaxing time this summer. What a blessing before the busy fall season.
Counting my blessings.....always,

  1. The picture of Brandi and Ava is so pretty! Thanks for sharing about our goat milk soap. :)

    1. Thank you, Lisa! :) And the soap is amazing. I love it! I'm a big believer in essential oils, and love the Thieves soap, especially. Both are awesome, though. I squealed like an excited two year old when the package arrived in the mail.

    2. LOL - isn't it great getting something fun/interesting in the mail? Doesn't happen too much these days. I started getting into essential oils when Lilly was alive. I bought a diffuser and put it to work killing airborne germs, to try and help protect her fragile immune system. Tabby and I are going to try and lavendar - tea tree oil blend for our soap this weekend. Soap then takes 5 weeks to cure. I'll let you know how it turns out. :)

  2. I love the picture of the boy (is it Levi?) jumping into the pool while the baby is looking on, because in the picture right under that one, it looks like Levi has vanished through the bottom of the pool, judging from the expression on the baby's face. rofl!

    1. Tabby, that's hilarious! I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out. Thank you! I was cracking up looking at them after that!. :) I called Natalie over and she noticed the same thing right away. :)
